Message from the PTSA President
PTSA
Welcome!
The Liberty Parent Teacher Student Association wants to encourage everyone to join the
PTSA for this upcoming 2009-2010 school year.  We have great things planned for this year
and want to be able to continue our wonderful endeavors.  Currently the Liberty PTSA
completely funds and provides the following at Liberty:

  • Art Teacher & all the art supplies
  • Part-time Library Clerk (15 hours a week)
  • Legend of the Quarter Lunch
  • Staff Appreciation Luncheon
  • Yearbook
  • Field Day
  • Birthday Book Club
  • Scholastic Book Fair
  • Donate over $4,000.00 worth of books to the school library
  • Donate $100.00 to each teacher towards class field trips
  • Quarterly Coffee with the Principal meetings
  • Talent Show: with all money going to help upgrade the stage and sound system
  • Winter Program: with all money raised going to help upgrade the stage and sound
    system
  • Movie Nights: with all money raised going to a school organization or grade level
  • Liberty Laps
  • Pays for 3 school wide assemblies
  • Read Across America Week
  • Ability Awareness/No Bully Campaign

Last school year the PTSA accomplished so much with less than 5% of the families being
members.  The PTSA has paid for a 20x30 shade structure that will be installed on the
school playground for the 2009-2010 school year.  The cost was approximately $21,000.00.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Welcome Back Picnic on Friday, August 7th
6pm.

The Liberty PTSA is a non-profit organization that directly supports Liberty's students,
teachers, and the school. Please help the PTSA by becoming a member and volunteering.
Our goal this year is to get 40% of our families to become members and join the Liberty
PTSA.  Imagine what we can do for our children and Liberty with more support. Thank you to
everyone at Liberty Elementary School, the Liberty PTSA could not do what we do with out
you!

Thank you,
Andrea Tarr
